Lightning’s New Friend

Faithful readers might remember our neighborhood dog, Lightning.

In the fall we entertained the idea of adopting her, and saving her from a miserable winter on the streets. Heartless misers that we are, we did not, but she managed anyway, surviving the cold and the dog catcher (read, dog slaughterer.)

Different dogs have come and gone, hanging around for a week or so. Recently she has made a new, seemingly permanent friend.

They trot around together, play, look for food, investigate smells and bark at Mongolian men (this keeps them pretty busy.)

This new friend needs a name, and since so many blog readers seem shy about posting comments, maybe you will feel more comfortable posting dog name suggestions?
