Angkor Wat, Early Edition

We spent Sunday on the loose around the outlaying temples of Angkor Wat.

The guide book says that this massive complex requires at least three days, so that’s what we’re doing.

I hope that we’ll post more about Angkor Wat in coming days or weeks, but here’s a taste of what we saw today.

Some friendly creatures who lost their tails some time during the last millennium:

Some amazing huge heads…

…notable, because so many heads were stolen by French people while Cambodia was a French colony. It’s also possible that Jackie Kennedy stole a head or two, since she made a very high profile visit here back in the day.
